she is enveloped in love at every turn... they take such joy in her. it was so wonderful to take the time to celebrate the wonderful grandparents they are...

the entire weekend was dedicated to relaxing, dating, and celebrating... 5 years of marriage, 13 years of us...

ch ch ch changes

i thought i had it all figured out... we would get fun stickers, big girl underwear, and a little potty of her own. i was even prepared to turn to treats if that's what it took. she loved the underwear, didn't care about the stickers and refused to sit on the potty. i let it go and less than a month later she took the initiative and the only reward she requires is a high five, a "good job!", a big smile and an even bigger hug. she is quite pleased with herself and i have to say we are too!

my blueberry gal

the box was simply something fun to hold while she ate her weight in blueberries. i remember the joy of eating fruits fresh from the plant when i was a child... like little jewels placed just for her to savor...

her courage

i knew that my reaction would set the pace for her. i remained calm and helped her back up. she wiped the water from her face, sat down and kept playing. i could use some of her courage...

full of song

he woke up full of song this morning. it didn't matter that it was all off key. his joy was contagious...

time keeps ticking

i blinked and she is 9 months old... it feels like i was just holding her for the first time - i'm afraid to blink again.

this bliss

the baby is asleep. papa is hanging out with the guys. mama has a date with a perfectly ripe peach over frozen yogurt and some mad men. bliss!

exploring

life slows down with a little helper around and somehow tedious jobs are seen through her eyes... her world is a giant sandbox and she ventures further into the depths of it every day.

sunrise joy

she woke up way too early. her joy at being up echoed through the quiet campground so we played in the car. the sun was streaming in as she cooed and squealed with such simple delight.

slowing down

sometimes i miss her when she is sleeping... i long to go in and scoop her up and snuggle her close to me realizing that she is quickly leaving her soft squishy babiness behind.
